G5 Camping Trip
By: Natasha
Grade 5 went on an overnight camping trip in Kirirom. We did lots of activities that were helping us prepare for our grade 5 exhibition. We worked in our exhibition groups to complete multiples of tasks.
My group and I had to first come up with 3 key concepts. We chose function, perspective and responsibility. After that we made lines of inquiries for each of the key concepts. For some groups, it was really easy and other groups had to put in more effort and time into it.
When it started to grow dark, we did some star gazing. We lay down on the grass and turned off our flashlights. It was really quiet and peaceful. We even saw a shooting star and we each made a wish. I wished for…never mind I can’t tell you or it won’t come true.
We played lots of fun games and told scary and funny stories. Everyone participated and had loads of fun that night. Now here comes the best part: we all sat around the campfire, sang songs and roasted marshmallows. The teachers helped us roast them and for some of us it was the first time we had ever done this. Soon it was time for us to tuck in for the night.
Everyone went in their tents and went to sleep. I could hear the insects buzzing from outside the tents. Darkness covered the campsite and we all woke up early the next morning. We all unzipped our tents and slowly came up. Some of us could see the sun rising in the distance what a beautiful view.
I couldn’t wait to go back home!
